Handling Setbacks As a Writer

Author: Sharifa McFarlane Sanderson
Every writer has faced setbacks at some point. In fact, it may be fair to say that the most successful writers have faced more setbacks than most. Generally, people in any profession face a fair number of obstacles and get through a lot of failures before they reach to their goal.

People who succeed do so after persevering, pushing forward despite the mental and emotional challenges they had to deal with whenever they experienced failure. Handling setbacks as a writer involves looking at the challenges and determining what is working and where we might make changes to get even better results.

How about you? Have you faced challenges as a writer? How have you overcome them?

Writer's Pseudonyms- Why Write Under An Alias?

Writer's Pseudonyms- Why Write Under An Alias?

Lots of writers use pseudonyms. They do so for many different reasons. A casual search of Amazon for any one of your favorite writers may well reveal books that they have written under different names. At first, yo may not realize that the books that come up with your search are all written by the same author. After a bit of searching around, you will make the connection.

Often enough, writers choose a pseudonym when they want to branch out into a different genre. For example, a writer who is known for authoring time travel mysteries may choose a pseudonym when they branch out into writing spy novels.

Do you write? Have you ever considered using a pseudonym? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
